Comments Regarding Babies' Chemical Exposure (08.07.2012)
Tuesday, August 07, 2012: Following a post about how to keep babies away from chemicals contained in baby products, Argington comments on the occasionally misleading terms used to label baby products and the possible chemical exposure that babies may be unwittingly subjected to.

On August 7th, 2012, kids bedding manufacturer Argington commented on a post made by Fox News that discusses misleading products labels on items that are theoretically safe for babies but are actually full of potentially hazardous chemical additives.

The Fox News post mentioned specific chemicals like 1,4-dioxane and quaternium 15, and a class of chemicals known as phthalates, which have side effects that range from reproductive disorders, autism, cancers, and learning disabilities. According to the article, even the term “fragrance” is misleading, since “what you think might be the product’s natural scent, is actually a blanket term manufacturers use to hide allergens, synthetic musks and hundreds of chemicals including phthalates.”
