Industry veteran David Blair has joined the Board of Directors of the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library. With more than 20 years of brand development experience he will help to energize the mission of promoting the library for research, design and collaboration. He will join an accomplished team of home furnishings professionals to support the non-profit organization.
In making the appointment, Russell Bienenstock, President of the Board said “David is a welcome member to the strongest board we have assembled in years. His industry knowledge, connection to the furniture community and can-do spirit will help us to make more people aware of, and motivate them to visit and use the library.”
Blair is Director of Strategic Services for Emisare, a marketing agency known for Relationship Branding, which blends research, strategic analysis and exceptional creative into traditional and new media communications programs with a focus on building strong bonds between brands and customers. Emisare is the agency of record for the High Point Market Authority.
When asked why he wanted to join the board, Blair said, “The Bienenstock Library is a unique resource for members of the home furnishings and design trades. I became acquainted with the Library when I wrote a brief history of the High Point Market for its 100th anniversary in 2009. I was able to piece together key details of the market’s early years by poring through century-old editions of Furniture World. While I was there, I discovered the vast resources available to anyone. I see my position on the board as an opportunity to promote this resource to the furniture and design trades. I hope to assist others who recognize and appreciate this valuable resource, and wish to preserve and expand its influence in their professional lives.”
