Norwalk Furniture will kick off a series of three design-oriented and educational events at the October High Point Market in the company’s showroom located at IHFC, Main 108. All events are free and open all interior designers, retailers, and other Market attendees with a valid Fall Market pass.
The series begins on Saturday, October 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a launch party to celebrate the company’s partnership with Los Angeles-based designer, Kim Salmela, with whom Norwalk will launch a line of lifestyle products with a modern bohemian vibe this fall. On Sunday, October 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the celebration of the Kim Salmela collection continues with a launch brunch – also in the Norwalk showroom. Then, on Monday, October 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Salmela will be joined by Elise Gabrielson of Crypton, and trend guru, Jaye Anna Mize from Fashion Snoops in a triple-header program called “From Culture to Product” to get a glimpse into Salmela’s design aesthetic, which is inspired by her extensive world travels, keen trend awareness and love of high performance fabrics.
“To fulfill our mission of continuing education and to share our love of design trends with our partners and the industry, we are hosting a number of events in our showroom and as well as participating in many tours and panels throughout Market,” said Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture. “We have really committed ourselves to education at Markets, particularly on topics such as color trends and design, with practical advice on how our customers can use them in their daily business.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with Kim and are even more excited that Fashion Snoops and Crypton will be on-site to not only facilitate the Q&A on Monday evening, but also share some of their insights with our attendees,” she continued.
Sponsored by Crypton Home and facilitated by Jaye Anna Mize, the home interiors creative director of Fashion Snoops, the interactive discussion with Kim Salmela on Monday, October 15th, will provide attendees with tips on topics such as how to create a culturally-inspired mood in their stores and in their interior designs, a trending theme in today’s home interiors. These practical tips will be interwoven with cultural, color and trend insights identified by Fashion Snoops that are expected to drive the future of interior and product design.
Kim Salmela is owner of several award-winning home furnishings retailers, a manufacturer and designer of her own custom furniture line and is a multi-faceted designer, working with clients ranging from commercial to residential interior design projects.
