Floyd, a direct-to-consumer furniture manufacturing company has introduced its first low-profile sectional with nine seat section options that offer many configuration opportunities. “Floyd’s meticulous design process focuses on creating a product that will never be discarded,” said a company spokesperson. “It has to be essential, modular, adaptable, serviceable, high-quality, and solve for paint points like feathers that poke out of pillows, cushions that sag over time, and creaky legs. The sectional does all of the above.”

Floyd’s new sectional is made in a U.S. factory and combines durable materials with sturdy construction, according to the company. An angled back rest meets ultra-deep seats that features cushions filled with three densities of foam along with metal flat springs for suspension support. The cushion components are affixed to a frame constructed from engineered wood with solid joints in order to prevent creaky movement.

The upholstery for the sectional is made with a high performance fabric that is moisture-repellent, stain-resistant and easily cleaned. But the company said it contains no hazardous chemicals, like formaldehyde, flame retardants, or stain repellents. Consumers also have the option of adding a walnut or oak ply table with chamfer detailing that accompanies the sectional as either an in-line unit or a coffee table.

Another option is the Floyd sectional ottoman which can also serve as an occasional table. The company also honors its sustainability commitment by delivering the item blanket-wrapped on a reusable pallet with minimal cardboard packaging. The Floyd sectional starts at $1,540 for a two-seater and runs to $3,690 for a five-seater. Colorways for the piece include off-white, mineral, charcoal, navy or green.
