HPMA announces updates to the board of directors

High Point Market Authority (HPMA) officially announced updates to its board of directors, taking effect on January 1, 2023. Patti Carpenter, principal of Carpenter + Company/Trendscope, Neil MacKenzie, vice president of marketing for Universal Furniture, Griffin McClure, president of Green and McClure Furniture, Blake Millinor, CEO of Valdese Weavers, Joni Vanderslice, president of J Banks Design, and Taylor West, president of West Design Group, are the six new board members who will serve terms of two years that end in December 2024.

Lee Boone, Josh Hudson, Karen Olson, and Randy Tillinski, who have been on the board since January 2021, will rotate off at the conclusion of this year. At the most recent HPMA board meeting held during the Fall 2022 Market, the board updates were made public. Through 2023, Christi Barbour, the founder of Barbour Spangle Design, will continue to serve as vice president on the board’s executive committee, while Alex Shuford, III, CEO of the Rock House Farm Family of Brands and Century Furniture, will continue to serve as president.

The board of directors is in charge of directing and supporting HPMA’s operational and marketing endeavors. The following High Point Market will take place from April 22–26. Late January will see the start of registration.
