To better serve consumers living in smaller homes and apartments, Ashley Furniture is expanding its RTA assortment with more than 500 new domestically produced case goods that can be shipped directly to consumers’ homes and assembled in those settings.
At this week’s Las Vegas Market, the company is unveiling 10 new paper laminate bedrooms and 20 entertainment units — from TV consoles to wall units — along with a group of small-scale occasional and home office pieces.
The bedroom component is the largest segment, with some 300 SKUs available among the different groups, followed by some 60 SKUs in home office and 50 in home entertainment. The balance of the mix is in occasional tables and fully upholstered beds available in twin, full, queen and king sizes and in different fabrics.
While Ashley’s experience manufacturing RTA dates back to the 1970s, its RTA mix of late has been focused on dining tables and chairs. The company also has offered some RTA occasional, home office and home entertainment made with veneers.
This’s introduction broadens Ashley’s mix across many more categories at starting/promotional price points and featuring photo engraved paper laminates versus veneers.The product is also designed with a contemporary flair that aims to attract Millennials and younger consumers.
