BHDM redesigns Shoreline Hotel in Hawaii

An explosion of color and nature was the design concept behind this modern hotel in Hawaii. Located a stone’s throw from Honolulu’s famous beach, the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki was redesigned by US architecture and interior design studio BHDM , where bold shades bring inside the island connection with flora and fauna.

“Our design aim for Shoreline was to create a colorful and unique experience for the millennial-minded traveler. ‘Nature meets neon’ throughout, blending the natural beauty of Hawaii’s flora and wildlife with all the colors of an ‘eternal sunset’,” said Dan Mazzarini, owner of BHDM Design. “We’ve designed Shoreline to be the backdrop to an already exciting getaway, and for guests and the community to share memories of their visit.” Dan added further.

“Bringing to life the dramatic landscape and sunsets of Hawaii with a contemporary twist, BHDM’s design for Shoreline incorporates the colors and textures found in the nature and wildlife of Hawaii and filters them through a neon lens,” said a statement from the studio.

Starting in the reception area, a hot-pink carpet and paneled wall are accompanied by a neon sign that spells out Hawaiian greeting “aloha”. The same flooring continues into a lounge area, where modern furniture is upholstered in yellow, teal, blue and red.

Corridors leading to the guest rooms, that are decorated with floral wallpaper and patterned carpets. The bedrooms are either pink, teal or blue, with combinations of other colors used for custom bedspreads, carpets, furniture, and accessories.
