Gus* Modern, the Canadian home furnishings brand, announced the launch their latest collection at the Spring 2019 High Point Market (IHFC | Showroom H512). The new collection features a number of modern workspace designs and a contemporary upholstery series.
Modern workspace designs like the modular Branch Shelving System, customizable Envoy Desk, Perf File Cabinet, and Radius Task Chair bring casual sophistication to both home and office spaces. The Jane 2 Series – a modern update to the classic Jane Series – offers a stylish aesthetic that carries through to the Bracket Chair and Dining Table, Dunlop Chair, and two new storage designs. Also launching is the contemporary Soren Series, a sculptural sofa and chair that mark a striking addition to the Gus* Modern aesthetic.

The Spring 2019 High Point introductions from Gus* Modern will include the following:
Envoy Desk
The Envoy Desk is a sleek addition to the modern workspace, combining minimalist design and mix‐and‐match components for a custom look that is both elegant and functional. Two surface size options, two finish choices and four leg options let you create the perfect piece to anchor your office or blend seamlessly with your at‐home style.
Radius Task Chair
With an elegantly upholstered tub‐style form, the Radius Task Chair is office furniture that captivates with its casual sophistication. Centering a stylish aesthetic and welcoming feel, Radius makes no sacrifices in function: adjustable height, swivel ability, and an option to configure with rolling castors or stationary feet make it the perfect addition to the modern workspace.
Perf File Cabinet
Combining playful detail with serious storage capability, the Perf File Cabinet offers simplicity in both form and function. The lockable, three‐drawer file cabinet features ample space for documents and personal items, including a top‐drawer tray for smaller stationary items.
Branch Shelving System
The Branch Shelving System blends mid‐century style with modular components that give you an infinite number of elegant, open‐storage options for home or office. The design features varying bookshelf configurations that can be transformed into a seamless workspace with the addition of a desk unit. Additional add‐on units let you customize the size and layout of your shelving system to perfectly suit your space, and the shelves are height adjustable to suit any arrangement of decorative items or resources.
Principal Chair
The Principal Chair brings an element of sculptural simplicity to any space. The solid wood back, bent plywood seat and tubular steel frame create a natural harmony of texture and form that highlight the chair’s design and craftsmanship.
Soren Series
The Soren Series showcases a contemporary take on refined comfort. Sculptural design is the hallmark of the Soren Series: geometric forms, bold curves, and a black, steel base create a subtly playful aesthetic that has ample sophistication to hold its own as a centerpiece. The frame is constructed with kiln‐dried 100% FSC®‐Certified hardwood in support of responsible forest management.
Dunlop Chair
Juxtaposing an industrial frame with refined upholstery, the Dunlop is a contemporary accent chair that offers a stylish aesthetic with a relaxed feel. The angular, powder‐coated steel frame is open on all sides, creating a lightness that suits both small and large spaces. Channeled upholstery on the seat and back adds subtle detail, while the upholstered arm pads complete a comfortable and laid‐back look that is perfect for the modern home or workspace.
Jane 2 Series
A modern update to the classic Gus* Modern Jane Series, the Jane 2 Series retains the iconic, mid‐century look while adding contemporary enhancements. Piped upholstery edges and button‐tufted cushions create photogenic surface details that are enhanced by Jane 2’s new, more refined proportions. A new wood base (available in light or dark wood finish) is inset on each piece, creating a sense of weightlessness that maximizes light and space. The frame is constructed with kiln‐dried 100% FSC®‐Certified hardwood in support of responsible forest management.
Bracket Chair
The Bracket Chair brings a uniquely modern elegance to the dining room. The bold sculpting of the solid‐wood legs provides the perfect balance to the luxurious leather upholstery of the one‐piece seat and back. The leather’s channel‐stitched detail completes the look and adds a touch of personality to this distinctive design.
Belmont Cabinet
The Belmont Cabinet is an architecturally inspired storage design that features the natural beauty of walnut. Doors and top drawer feature contrasting pulls in a black finish. Two interior compartments provide concealed storage and each has an adjustable shelf. An open storage area with adjustable shelves provides additional space for essential items or decorative display and allows this design to maximize functionality.
Myles Cabinet
The Myles Cabinet combines subtle details and craftsmanship to create a storage design that exudes simple sophistication. Rose gold handles contrast dark stained, chevron‐patterned oak faces. A recessed, slender steel base with black, powder‐coated finish creates an illusion of weightlessness. Adjustable shelves in the interior compartments and open storage area provide plenty of efficient storage space allowing this design to maximize functionality in a smaller and taller footprint.
Gus* will debut all new designs at the High Point Furniture Market in North Carolina from April 6 to 10, 2019. The Gus* Modern furniture collection is designed in Canada, and is sold at over 150 furniture retailers in North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
