The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has announced the return of its ‘Hospitality at Market’ program during the Fall 2017 Market, scheduled for October 14 to 18. Launched at the Fall 2016 Market, the program is developed to provide hospitality industry designers an opportunity to experience the full capabilities of some of their most important suppliers. Hospitality at Market features a curated directory of showrooms, guided tours, educational events and networking opportunities.

This second annual Hospitality at Market program will kick-off at 3pm on Sunday, October 15, with a reception in the Currey & Company showroom, complete with a presentation from Marilyn Lasecki of Marriott International and Stacey Tiveron, founder of TODL.com (now Steelyard). On Sunday evening, the Christopher Guy showroom will welcome guests to the Keynote Event, featuring a presentation by the brand’s founder, Christopher Guy Harrison, with hospitality designers Glenn Wilson and Joni Vanderslice.

Monday, October 16, presents a full schedule of guided and self-guided showroom tours, a reception in the Kravet Contract showroom, and a panel discussion on “The Four Pillars of Hospitality Design”. The tours will visit several of the 75-plus participating showrooms, which will all have hospitality reps on-site to present the exhibitor’s hospitality offerings and full range of capabilities.

An advisory committee, comprised of hospitality industry professionals, works closely with the High Point Market Authority to develop programming and recruit attendees. Committee members include Gary Inman, Vice President of Hospitality for Baskervill, a leading design firm; plus two multi-line manufacturer’s representatives, Lynda Welte, President, Blueprints for GREEN Design; and Bess Rosefield Ehmke, Principal at The Best of BESS. Welte is also a founding member and past president of the Washington, DC chapter of NEWH, the hospitality industry association, and Rosefield Ehmke currently serves as Steering Chair for the organization’s North Carolina region.

Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority, stated, “Exhibitors have presented their hospitality offerings at High Point Market for quite some time, and hospitality designers have long been coming to take advantage of that. This event, however, is the first to focus on the hospitality sector. Hospitality designers and exhibitors alike are truly embracing this opportunity, and we’re seeing great connections being made and business getting done as a result. I’m so glad we’re able to offer this sector of our industry such a top-level experience.”

Registration for this program is free to all hospitality buyers, designers and specifiers. Suppliers and sales representatives must have a High Point Market showroom.
