John Thomas unveils Timberland Creations a custom dining range

John Thomas recently launched Timberland Creations, a customizable dining program featuring tables with rough-sawn solid white oak tops. Collection features tables made with solid white oak tops made and finished domestically.

The solid 1-inch thick tops, which are produced in Ohio, come in 48-inch round and 36-by-72-inch sizes. The round has an open pedestal base, and the rectangular table has a trestle style base, both of which are produced overseas with parawood solids, another term for rubberwood.

The bases and tops are finished domestically and available in four of the company’s bestselling finishes including ivory, black, nickel and truffle. Any of these distressed finishes can be mixed and matched on the bases and the tops. Retailing at $1,799 for a table and four chairs, the sets ship within two weeks of order. This compares with eight weeks for the company’s Select custom program available in 48 finishes. There also are two chair options, including a chair with an upholstered seat that is available at no upcharge in stock fabric.

The company will be able to ship Timberland Creations to customers easily Bryan Sprinkles, vice president, sales and marketing added, “This is an offshoot to our Select program,” he said. “We will limit it to four finishes and ship it out fast. We want to produce these in advance in higher quantities.” He added further that the aesthetic offered by the white oak tops is unique within the line. “That look is something we would never emulate otherwise,” he said regarding the balance of the line, which is produced with solid parawood, or rubberwood, components sourced from Asia. “It’s a value and a quality story.”
