Leather stationary and motion upholstery resource Leather Italia will debut a new showroom at 247 S. Main St. at April Premarket. The high-visibility, two-floor location at the intersection of Main Street and Green streets, which had been occupied by Furniture of America since 2014, totals a little more than 15,000 square feet.
With a full renovation, Leather Italia’s new space provides far more merchandising opportunities than its 12,000-square-foot showroom in Market on Green, according to Vice President of Sales Zachary Shilen. “It will be a better walk-through with more of a story to tell vs. just presenting product,” Shilen said. “In the old showroom, we could show 50 to 60 groups, and now we can have around 90. We can show more products from starting to higher end prices, and a much greater breadth of assortment.”
In addition to fully accessorized vignettes addressing various price points and variations on contemporary and transitional looks, that assortment will include a new accent chair program with a color wheel comprising more than 30 styles as Leather Italia looks to be a one-stop shop for all leather seating categories.
Leather Italia completely renovated the showroom’s exterior and interior. Exterior enhancements include complete re-painting and LED lighting for the company’s logo on street-facing walls. Inside, Leather Italia created a grand entrance area, replaced all dry wall, re-painted all interior surfaces, added accent walls and replaced carpeting with high-grade polished concrete floors. All new LED lighting will make for improved presentation of product.
“As this brand continues to grow and our account base continues to grow, my goal was to have one of High Point’s outstanding showrooms,” Shilen said. “With this central location and the renovations we’ve done, I think we’ll achieve that.”
