Mohawk Industries has entered into an agreement to purchase Foss Floors, which operates three northwest Georgia facilities. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, and Foss will be integrated into the Mohawk Home business.

Founded in 1954, Foss sells primarily to national home centers and other manufacturers. Its state-of-the-art technology creates products that are differentiated from traditional tufted and woven manufacturing, the company said, adding non-woven production yields a versatile, felt-like surface that can be used for indoor or outdoor applications.

In a memo to employees, Paul De Cock, president of Mohawk Flooring North America, and Rocky Casteel, president of Mohawk Home, said, “Foss has a great team of people. We have witnessed their commitment to customers, product innovation, safety and sustainability; and we are confident this will be a successful partnership, with many opportunities to learn from one another as we go forward. We believe it will be an excellent complement to our existing Mohawk Home business. In every product category, we are committed to being the best in the industry, delighting our customers with quality and service and providing a full array of flooring solutions for today’s consumer.”

According to the company, Foss will continue to operate with its current leadership team, led by Brian Warren, who will report to Rocky Casteel.
