Case goods and upholstery resource Standard Furniture recently announced that they will function under the new CEO Charlie Eitel. The former bedding executive Charlie Eitel will now guide the function of the Standard Furniture as the new CEO.
“It is with confidence and commitment I am happy to join Standard and their family legacy,” Eitel said. “Our Industry is facing challenges across many fronts, and I feel it is important we all help each other in a supportive and caring way. Standard has an amazing reputation of delivering low cost, high value products, and this strategy will continue. We have stumbled in the last year, but trust me, we will stand tall and return to the founders operating model that served our associates and our loyal customers for over 74 years.
“We are focused, motivated and will get this done,” he added, noting that the company’s distribution center in Bay Minette is staffed and open for business with inventory across all product categories. In addition, he said, a majority of the company’s suppliers in Vietnam are open and producing product.
William ‘Billy’ Hodgson, chairman of the company added, “We look forward to Charlie joining the Standard family, working alongside Tim, who has earned his new position as a 17-year seasoned leader within the company. Charlie is a great fit for our culture and legacy and to lead us in our steadfast commitment to provide our retail partners with market leading customer service, quality and design.”
