Very Wood at the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Miami

Very Wood is taking part in the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo, one of the most prominent interior design, architecture and fittings exhibitions for the cruise ship industry. The trade fair will be held on November 10th and 11th at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where designers, architects and suppliers from the interior design industry will have an opportunity to meet the cruise ship industry’s major shipyards and shipping companies.

Very Wood, a leading company in the contract sector, chose this event to call attention to its ability to engage in design with stakeholders of all kinds, from the cruise ship, restaurant and hotelier industries to health and social care, meeting the international standards required by each sector, through presenting a selection of products from their latest collections: Egadi, Cigar and Bellevue.

The Egadi chair collection, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni and the result of the designer’s first collaboration with Very Wood, features highly versatile products which, starting from an initial design platform, are developed into different light and sinuous shapes. A single idea generating three different shapes and three distinct models that is further expanded for the new lounge armchair, Egadi 04, with a soft, enveloping backrest that embraces the seat, and two chairs, Egadi 06 and 416, with and without backrests, which recapture the Ideal of the light seat that seems to float on its structure.

Coupled with the seats is the Cigar collection’s dining table designed by Patricia Urquiola for use in both indoor and outdoor settings, and also suitable for marine environments. Defined by contemporary appeal and a playful design, the Cigar tables, available with round or square tops and in different heights, stand out for the shape of their central leg which ironically evokes that of a cigar, hence the name of the collection, as well as the option of customising the colours and materials of their various parts (base, column and top) affording them the versatility to fit in different contract spaces.

Their presentation is rounded off by two products from the Bellevue collection by Swiss designer This Weber, which combines simplicity and sophistication, breathing life into an aesthetic that enables its products to fit into any setting. The Bellevue coffee table is available in beech, Fenix or Calacatta Oro marble topped versions, and is set apart by its fine visible border detail that elegantly frames the top. The new Lounge armchair, Bellevue XL, is also presented: its beechwood legs are fitted inside the upholstered seat with a wide wraparound back, creating an illusion of a seamless symbiosis between different materials.

Once again Very Wood succeeds in offering sophisticated collections that combine practical design with an innate passion for wood, craftsmanship, attention to detail and the quality of natural materials, presenting solutions suitable for the contract sector.
