Case goods manufacturer West Bros Furniture has expanded its solid wood lineup with several new writing desks designed by long-time design partner Blake Tovin. This extension, now includes seven, mostly 52-inch, desks, aim to capture the attention of consumers seeking quality solid wood construction in the category. These are a part of the new Workspace Designs by Blake Tovin line that complement the designs in several existing Tovin collections including Camber, Phase, Serra and Fulton.
Camber is made with solid cherry and available in two standard finishes, while Phase — which has a 52-inch writing desk and a 64-inch half-ped desk — is made with black walnut and white oak. Each is available in two finishes. Also, Serra, which has a 50-inch and a 52 inch desk, is made with solid walnut in four finishes, and Fulton is made with oak solids and veneers and comes in two standard finishes.
A desk also has been added to the Hayden collection. Available in two finishes, it is made with solid white oak and features optional ribbon-striped walnut drawer fronts in a walnut finish. The desks, which are targeted to retail from $1,500 to $1,655, feature the solid wood construction story West Bros is known for, including dovetail joinery and fully finished interiors on drawers. “Workspace is really a better term, because most people have miniaturized their work environment at home,” Tovin said.
Samantha Mund, who heads up sales and marketing at West Bros., said this is a timely addition to the line given the number of consumers who are working from home. “We are offering customers a more realistic approach to functional desks, how people actually do things,” she added. “Designed to complement the lifestyle of its owner, each piece functions well inside or outside of the workspace, making it furniture for the way people really live.”
