Children’s furniture resource Whitney Brothers has launched a new study pod concept for kids learning at home or in physical school environments. The Nature View Serenity Pod is a biophilia-inspired study pod designed for early learners that offers many different configurations in flexible learning environments.
For example, the design allows pods to be set up in S-shapes, semicircles, horseshoe patterns and other configurations that offer creative solutions for how children learn today. Its design also accommodates social distancing in and outside schools to keep kids safe and healthy at the same time it offers visibility for adult supervision.
Curved acrylic panels feature a printed woodland scene the company said brings the calm of nature indoors, creating “a comforting personalized activity space.” The company noted that the design is inspired by scientific research that shows nature-inspired patterns can reduce stress, enhance creativity and achieve a focused clarity of thought.
“We strive to design educational furniture that is irresistible to children and increases their engagement to their learning environment,” said Mike Jablonski, president of Whitney Brothers. “Our Nature View Serenity Pod illustrates that concept convincingly and embodies the fresh design thinking our brand is renowned for.”
This is part of the Nature View collection, which won the 2020 Spaces4Learing New Product Gold award in 2020. The collection now includes more than 32 individual furniture pieces. Retailing at $669, the Nature View Serenity Pod is now available through authorized Whitney Brothers dealers.
